If ever war erupts in 2027 and South Africa finds itself under attack, it may reveal a painful truth.
Those who loudly claimed patriotism may be the first to seek refuge in foreign lands, knocking on the very doors they once tried to shut.
Driven by anger and hatred, some roam the country fueled by xenophobia, mistreating foreign nationals and forgetting that humanity knows no borders. In their rage, they act without wisdom, blind to the future consequences of division.
But hatred cannot rule forever.
Every season of violence carries the seed of its own ending.
In time, unity, understanding, and shared humanity will rise above fear.
